The Chinese have a similar experiment for testing whether sharks can live without their dorsal fins. And if rhinoceri can live without their horns.
We Indians also have experiments to determine whether a tiger/cheetah/blackbuck etc. can live without their skins.
Fascinating scientific developments, for the benefit of…uh…someone.
